Moffat House Hotel

Moffat House Hotel awarded 2011, 2012 and 2013 Trip Adviser Certificates of Excellence

Built in the 1750's, Moffat House is a smaller replica of the famous Hopetoun House in Edinburgh. Originally built for the Earl of Hopetoun, the charm and elegance has been retained through careful modernisation

Whether a small and intimate gathering or the wedding of your dreams The BEST WESTERN Moffat House Hotel can arrange the wedding you desire. We are licensed for both civil and religious ceremonies which can be hosted in one of our various lounges or under the 250 year old oak tree in the garden. In whichever location your wedding is held, everywhere affords a wonderful backdrop for your photographs.

Passing between the old sandstone pillars and up the beautiful cantilevered staircase, Moffat House has 20 bedrooms.

The food at Moffat house is quite simply first rate and awards are being gathered every year. From formal dining in Hopetoun's Restaurant to informal lounge meals, lunches and suppers, be assured fresh local produce and home cooking are at work to satisfy the most discerning of palates. A fine selection of wines will complement your meal. In addition, the library bar will spoil you for choice with a good selection of malt whisky and beer.

Hospitality and hostmanship are alive at Moffat House and to assist in making you more comfortable, log fires blaze through chilly winter evenings in the lounge bar and coffee lounge. The restaurant, sun lounge and coffee lounge are superbly situated with views of the gardens.

All the bedrooms are ensuite. Each room is tastefully decorated with its own style and character from the superb four poster and king size bedrooms to family rooms and specially adapted ground floor disabled rooms.
