Station Park

Station Park is situated on the A701 Beattock Road as you head into Moffat from the motorway roundabouts. There is a free car park opposite with a traffic-light controlled pedestrian crossing to take you safely across to the park. As well as Moffatasia, below, other fun features are the pedaloes and putting. Prior to the Beeching cuts to the rail network in 1963, there was a branch line from Beattock into Moffat where the park now stands. At the back of the park a small station building is visible. It is to recognise the town's history as having had a station that there is now the outline of a train on the flower bed by the car park. Beattock Station was closed as a result of the Beeching cuts and the Beattock Station Action Group are now carrying out considerable research and lobbying in an effort to reinstate a station at Beattock.
