This small 16-room country hotel is situated in the centre of Moffat, a former spa town where national bard Robert Burns was one of the many visitors who came here to take the waters.
For walking enthusiasts, Moffat lies at the midpoint of the southern upland way and is an excellent base to explore this part of Scotland. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Galloway and the Lake District are all within easy reach.
The hotel is fully licensed and offers great food from 07:00 till 21:30 every day. Restaurant, Bar, Newspapers, Non-smoking Rooms, Family Rooms, Free Parking, Heating, Gay Friendly, All Public and Private Spaces Non-smoking.
The Balmoral probably has the busiest restaurant in and around Moffat. There is an extensive menu including the hotel's world-famous fish teas and delicious steak pies. Its accommodation comprises 16 en suite bedrooms (4 singles, 11 doubles and a twin).
There are also 2 cottages in the hotel courtyard to the back of the main building. These are self contained and ideal for families. All our rooms have a TV, DVD player, coffee and tea making facilities etc.
