St. John's Episcopal/Anglican Church, Burnside, Moffat
St. John's Episcopal Church in Burnside is a small but beautiful church in the heart of Moffat.
The Church's history is closely linked with the Victorian Spa and later to the independent schools that proliferated in the town until the seventies. Worthy of note is the high Victorian West Window created by Charles Eamer Kempe, who was one of the first to use silver stain on clear glass, also the hand-crafted oak altar table with his signature carved mice and several interesting symbols of the Boer War.

The Church organ, built in 1872, has recently been totally restored with the help of a generous grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The organ is particularly notable as having been recently authenticated as a 'Father' Henry Willis instrument. Though small, it has some powerful and varied stops, which allow it to be an effective performance instrument.
