Did you know ... using the Median Centre by Latitude-Longitude method of calculating the centre of Britain, 1 mile north of Moffat is the CENTRE of Britain ! Moffat is Scotland's first "Walkers Are Welcome" Town and has recently launched seven newly way-marked walk routes, as well as hosting an annual Walking Festival. The date for next year's Moffat Ramblers' Walking Festival has been set for 5th - 7th October 2012. There are a whole host of great places to stay, to suit all pockets, superb places to eat including a number of award-winning restaurants as well as homely cafes. Moffat is a great base to discover the Borders and Dumfries & Galloway and is only 50 miles from Edinburgh and Glasgow.
